Types of Visa

Thailand offers several types of visas to accommodate different purposes of travel and stays. Here are some of the main types:

  1. Tourist Visa (TR): This visa allows individuals to enter Thailand for tourism purposes. It typically grants a stay of up to 60 days, which can be extended once for an additional 30 days.

     

  2. Non-Immigrant Visa (Category O, B, ED, etc.): Non-immigrant visas are available for various purposes, including retirement (Category O-A), employment (Category B), education (Category ED), volunteering (Category O), and dependent family members (Category O). Each category has specific requirements and allows for different lengths of stay in Thailand.

     

  3. Business Visa (Category B): This visa is for individuals intending to conduct business activities in Thailand, such as attending meetings, seminars, or negotiating business deals. It typically allows for stays of up to 90 days and can be extended.

     

  4. Education Visa (Category ED): Also known as a student visa, this type of visa is for individuals enrolled in educational institutions in Thailand. It allows for stays corresponding to the duration of the educational program and may require periodic visa renewals.

     

  5. Retirement Visa (Category O-A): This visa is for individuals aged 50 and above who wish to retire in Thailand. It grants a stay of up to one year and can be renewed annually, provided certain financial and health requirements are met.

     

  6. Marriage Visa (Category O): This visa is for individuals who are married to Thai citizens. It allows for a stay of up to one year and can be renewed annually, contingent upon the continuation of the marriage relationship.

     

  7. Elite Visa: The Thailand Elite Visa or Thialnd Privilege visa is a special privilege card program offering long-term residency benefits and various privileges to affluent individuals, investors, and retirees. It comes with different membership options, ranging from 5 to 20 years, and offers perks such as visa-free entry, expedited immigration, and exclusive services.
