Visa extension of Retirement or Long-stay purpose

  2. The applicant must obtain Non-immigrant visa

  3. Be 50 years of age or older.

  4. Have evidence of having income of not less than 65,000 baht per month, or

  5. Not less than 2 months before submitting the application and not less than 3 months after receiving permission, there must be a deposit in the bank account.
    Commerce located in Thailand not less than 800,000 baht. After receiving permission for 3 months, the deposit can be withdrawn.  There must be an account balance of not less than 400,000 baht or

  6. Have income during the year and have deposits at a commercial bank located in Thailand totaling not less than 800,000 baht as of the application submission date. However, the bank deposits must remain in the account before submitting the application. and after receiving permission Including being able to withdraw deposits as in (4.)

Only aliens who have received a Non-Immigrant Visa, code O-A, must have health insurance or government welfare from abroad that has a limit to cover medical expenses and have insurance that covers treatment for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) of not less than 100,000 US dollars or 3,000,000 baht, covering the entire period of stay in the Kingdom.

6.1    In the case of purchasing Thai health insurance, purchase the policy online through the website longstay.tgia.org

6.2    In the case of purchasing health insurance abroad or receiving government benefits from abroad, it must be certified by a foreign embassy in Thailand.

Or certification of the signature of the person authorized to sign the documents presented (Notary) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant.

6.3    In the case where the insurance company refuses to purchase health insurance in whole or in part, the applicant must have a deposit in a commercial bank account located in Thailand of not less than 3,000,000 baht at least 2 months prior to submitting the application.  Or else, the applicant must have a deposit in a commercial bank account located in Thailand and the other health insurance are calculated not less than 3,000,000 baht for use in medical treatment. 

         There must be evidence of refusal to purchase health insurance which is certified by that insurance company or has been certified by a foreign embassy in Thailand or certification of the signature of an authorized person sign the document presented (Notary) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant, as the case may be.

  1. Aliens who entered the Kingdom before 21 October 1998 and have been permitted to remain in the Kingdom to continue their retirement.  The following criteria shall apply: 

  2. Age 60 years and over and have a stable income. with a deposit remaining in the account throughout the past 3 months of not less than 200,000 baht per year or with an income of not less than 20,000 baht per month

  3. under 60 years of age but not less than 55 years of age, must have a deposit remain in the account throughout the past 3 months of not less than 500,000 baht per year or having an income of not less than 50,000 baht per month.
